About Us
Our Investment Companies
D-SUN finances its solar projects by aggregating multiple C&I-scale projects into utility-scale Solar Energy Investment Companies (SEICs), which deploy capital exclusively for D-SUN projects. D-SUN formed sunONE, its first SEIC, in January 2010 to finance and operate six medium-sized commercial rooftop sites in four states. By May 2010, sunONE had reserved 100% of its capital for signed partners and their sites in the Mid-Atlantic.
Following the demonstrable and scalable successes of sunONE in 2010, D-SUN began accepting commitments for sunTWO in early 2011, to develop solar power projects in the Mid-Atlantic and surrounding states. SunTWO is currently financing a diverse portfolio of projects, included a large commercial-scale solar carport in Meadowlands, NJ and rooftop array projects in Delaware and Maryland.
When choosing projects to underwrite through its SEICs, D-SUN devotes considerable resources to risk minimization. D-SUN uses a suite of sophisticated, proprietary analysis tools – the sunRISE Database, Azimuth Panel, Radiance Dial, and SOL Index – for project selection, output maximization, and facilities management. D-SUN seeks out partnerships with established, credit-worthy real estate portfolio companies with underutilized rooftop, parking lot, and ground space.
D-SUN is currently accepting new investor commitments for sunREV, which will finance and operate 40 MW of solar generation facilities in 2011 and 2012.
